This is 100% my favourite time of year. Golden leaves falling as you walk by, pathways coated in bronze, yellow and brown, just waiting for you to walk through them to hear them crispen. When the air is fresh and the sky is blue, there really isn’t anything better.

Walking has always been a bit of me. When I was a young girl, my Grandpa would take my Sister and I on two hour long walks most days, collecting wood for the fire and telling stories as we went. It wasn’t just an Autumn thing. We did it throughout the year; if it was too warm for a fire it would be stored until we needed it.

Autumnal Sundays come around and I go one of two ways; either flopped out on the sofa the entire day and all the food within easy reach or I’m Mrs Outdoors and want to go and get lost in the countryside, finally collapsing in a warm pub with an open fire and a delicious menu. Today was one of those days.

Before last Saturday I had no idea how beautiful Boston Spa in West Yorkshire was. Our friends have recently bought a house there and, as we love them so much, we decided to spend a fun-filled late October with them and a colourful early November too.

The view from the guest bedroom is just divine. If you can look at this and not want to get outside, something is wrong. Even though our previous evening was washed down with red wine and other liquid treats, the four of us still wanted to get outside, get moving and soak up our Sunday.

The only thing that could possibly make our walks any better is having a dog to run alongside us. I’m sure one day my attitude towards zero responsibilities will tire, but right now, I’m a little too selfish. My only thoughts were to find a pub, to get warm and tuck in to something amazing. ‘The Taylor’ from Tom Foolery was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had!

I’m looking forward to many more weekends like this one over the coming months. This month is a busy one for events; I’ve got Manchester Christmas Markets and 4 days in London to enjoy and I can’t wait!

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this week’s blog. What have you been up to?
