Whether I’m shopping for me or shopping for a friend, searching for new in fashion is one of my favourite pastimes. I can easily spend hours in the shops eyeing up pieces to buy and enjoy seeing what brands out together.
Normally I’ll see ideas and things I love either in a magazine or online and then go and see what’s on offer in my favourite stores.
So after a conversation with one of my Insta friends, Cash Carraway, I decided to offer a free styling service to my followers. When you’re looking for a new outfit for a special occasion or you want to introduce new styles or more colour in to your wardrobe but time is not on your side (or maybe if shopping bores you *shakes head in disbelief*) then I can do the leg work for you and go window shopping on your behalf.
On Saturday I put the message above out on my Insta Story to put the feelers out there and see if anyone would want to be my ‘guinea pig’. And what do you know, yesterday I got a message from Emma Louise of @LittleOwlLoves saying that this sounded like fun. I was over the moon to give it a go.
As Emma Louise will tell you, I asked her to tell me what kind of things she liked when it comes to fashion and what she was trying to achieve. I had a look around her Instagram of pictures from the last 6 months or so and made notes on what she had in her current wardrobe and also what I was going to suggest.
Just like me, she likes to shop on ASOS and has the Premier Delivery service (which by the way, for £9.99 a year, is such great value for money and means you don’t have to wait long at all for your new wardrobe!). I thought I’d make things easy for her and search for items solely on ASOS. If I was lucky, she would like at least one of the pieces I chose for her and then wouldn’t have to worry about paying for postage (or returns for that matter!).
Based on what Emma Louise told me, here are a few things I found for her and the notes to go with them, which I uploaded on my Story for her and my followers to see:
What was important for me is that I was picking pieces that I liked myself.
I haven’t shared all the images with you on here but you can find them on my highlight on Instagram. I’ll continue to upload my style sessions on there too.
Luckily, it seems that this idea has gone down well, not just with Emma Louise, who tells me she was looking to buy the yellow trousers and the pink tee following my suggestions, but I also have my second style sesh lined up! I’m excited!
I’m not one to shy away from finding new styles and fashions for men either, so if any males are reading, feel free to get in touch.
I’ve not seen this idea on any accounts that I follow so I hope this is something new and fresh for you to engage with. As always, I’m interested to know your thoughts.
Why not follow me on Instagram and Twitter for a mix of allsorts, but mainly outfit posts and new fashion that I want to buy! I also love food and weekends away so there’s a bit of that thrown in too.
Until next time, thanks for reading. Take care, Natalie x
