Not one for the faint hearted. You want to try a bold colour? Double up, go the whole hog and paint yourself head to toe in your chosen hue. I’m not one to shy away from colour really, but I could definitely introduce more of it into my wardrobe. Having been a little tighter with my purse-strings this month, I’ve been doing a bit of window shopping but also picking things out that I’d like to ask for as gifts for my upcoming birthday (March!). Whilst doing the rounds at my favourite shops, I’ve spotted some beauts.

Colour blocking is a big trend for SS18, as well as clashing colours too. The colours are bold and vivid and are bound to grab attention, whether you like it or not. I don’t know about you, but wearing bright colours makes me feel happy and ready for a fun day ahead; you can’t exactly be miserable when you’re wearing hot pink, can you?

Here are some favourites of mine from around the British High Street.

1. French Connection – Sundae Pink Suit

If you follow me on Instagram (and watch my stories) you might have seen this gorgeous suit that I spotted on my lunch hour earlier this week. Talking of colour clashing, it was paired with a canary yellow bag and white cami top underneath. I’d love to add this to my wardrobe but may look for a slightly less expensive option (or just wait until the sale comes along like I normally do!). I’d feel like a proper girl boss in this for my 9-5. I’d have to wear a black pointy heel with it though, not flats.

2. French Connection – Arta Lace Trousers and Tee

There are a few pieces to choose from in this beautiful and intricate ‘Arta’ collection. I can see this being a lovely wedding guest outfit, something different, allowing you to wear a white/off-white colour but not having to worry about annoying the bride. It would also be such a lovely, cool outfit for a Summer’s evening occasion too. In fact, this would be amazing as an evening outfit for my trip to St. Lucia this Summer! A nice pair of nude or white wedges would be needed for me, as I’m only 5ft 5.

3. River Island – Yellow/Mustard Ruched Blazer & Paper Bag Waist, Wide-leg trousers

Now this is very me! I love the quarter sleeve length and how the ruching on the sleeve ties in with the Paper Bag waist. Wide leg trousers are everywhere right now, so if this colour ticks your box, give it a try! I think a white cami or tee underneath or even another bright colour.

4. Topshop – Corduroy Cropped Wide-leg Suit

Corduroy is not something that I have in my wardrobe right now, but I really like it in this colour. It seems quite soft and I’m sure would keep you warm during Spring. I’d soften the look even more with this cropped, pink blouse – also from Topshop. I’d quite like the trousers even without the blazer, but then I could pretty much say that about all the items I’ve picked out!

5. Marks & Spencer – Lavender Suit

My hun, M&S, has come up trumps with this gorgeous coloured suit. The ankle-grazer cut is perfect and as you know I love this colour! Their Autograph wool-blend coat that I’ve picked out for my birthday would finish this off a treat! Triple colour-block!

I hope you like these pieces as much as I do. Would you dare to wear any of them? Let me know which is your favourite or if you decide to buy any of them.

You can follow me on Instagram for daily OOTDs and pictures of things I love. I’m also on Twitter too.

Until next time, take care. Natalie x
