It has been a while since my last fashion post but after popping to Meadowhall this week (our large shopping centre in Sheffield) I am excited to share some lovely looking new pieces that are in at one of our favourite High Street stores, Next.

If you’re from Sheffield, you’ll know that when you want to park near Primark, you have to head in via the Next store. I was doing just that; on my way in for a little affordable treat and walking through Next, I’ve never seen so many things at one time that I wanted to pick up and feel and dribble over – not actually dribble over them, that would be gross, but you know what I mean!

There are lots of busy, colourful prints and I don’t just mean animal print. The whole ‘Versace’ inspired chain print seems to be creeping in all the shops and Next had some of this on offer in a dress and blouse option. That print isn’t really my thing though; I like a dainty floral or a polka dot (dalmation print is very cool right now too!) and of course, I love a bit of classy leopard print.

Let’s start with a dress that I would say is a pretty good contender for a day at the races. I am being treated to a visit to Doncaster Racecourse in June (a celebration at work for our great work in 2018) and this just screams Julia Roberts and Pretty Woman vibes at me. The colour, the floaty-ness, the large polka dot – I love everything about it. It’s actually by Lipsy, rather than Next, but as you know they have stocked this brand for a long time now. And only £60! I think you would feel a million dollars in this one.

Lipsy Spot Hanky Hem Dress

For something busier with plenty of colour, this Print Long Sleeve T-Shirt Dress is lovely. Layer up with a black leather jacket, tights and ankle boots until we get to Spring/Summer time. It’s only £32.

One of my faves, it’s very me, is this shirt dress. It’s perfect for my work wardrobe. Another affordable piece at £35. With a lot of these dresses, throw a chunky knit on top and you’ve got two outfit’s from one piece. Harden them up with a pair of flat, chunky laced up boots (they’re so popular over on Instagram, have you noticed?) or dress them up for a formal event with heels.

White Animal Print Shirt Dress

Are you looking for more tops for those ‘jeans and a nice top’ outfits? Check out some of these beauties:

Berry Chain Print Shirt – £28

Pink/Black Animal Tie Dye Shirt – £34 (also available in a dress)

Navy Spot Frill Soft Shirt – £30

I mean, honestly, I could show you so much more. That’s the thing with Next; it’s affordable, British fashion and they always have on-trend pieces on offer but right now, they seem to just be nailing it. So, thank you, Next.
