A lot of fashion that I buy is influenced by either my favourite bloggers and Youtubers or a magazine article. If I’m not on Instagram I’m usually reading a fashion mag. One way I relax is by getting cosy with a cup or tea and grab a few magazines and get lost in fashion journalism. Quite a chunk of my salary goes on my wardrobe; it’s just what I enjoy spending money on. When I love my outfit I’m a different person! I can’t be the only person who feels like that? Confidence levels go up and I’m generally happier, crazy, isn’t it?
Tuesday or Wednesday evenings are usually spent with my Mum, unless I have a work event to go to. We both like to shop and this week we decided to hit the shops mid-week and I picked up lots of bargain pieces for both my work and weekend wardrobe. We only had time for New Look and HM. When the sales are on I find it easier to shop them either online or late evening instore. Weekend sale shopping can be manic and we can all do without that stress!
Watching shopping hauls on YouTube is something I love to do and so I thought you may like to see what I got my hands on. I own many, many jumpers and sweaters but I realised I don’t own a chunky black knit. I spotted this black one in HM and had to add it to my collection; it will go with so much in the colder months. I’ve worn it twice already and I’ve only had it 5 days.
On Thursday evening I paired it with my dusky pink, couderoy mini from Primark and another new purchase made this week, these fabulous grey, faux-suede high ankle boots from Public Desire. They were my first purchase from their brand and I’m really impressed! The emails and order process was simple and when they arrived the packaging was great.
I wanted to add a black mini to my work wardrobe but also to be able to wear it with oversized jumpers on a weekend with ankle boots. This faux-leather black one from New Look has a nice added touch with the lace up detail to one side. Again, I know I like something lots when I want to wear it straight away. I wore it to work this week.
Holly Willoughby’s style team are killing it right now. She looks amazing every day on This Morning and if you follow her on Instagram you will find out where all her outfits come from and also get tonnes of inspiration. She seems to wear a lot of midi-length skirts and dresses. It’s a good cut for people like me, who maybe don’t love their legs and are also not the tallest. You show off your shoes and you feel ladylike too. I keep reading that forest green, bottle green colours are perfect for this season so due to all of the above, I picked up this asymmetric forest green midi skirt from HM. Again, I’ve already worn it to work but I think it would be nice for a smarter weekend look too, paired with either knee-high or over-the-knee boots like in this picture. Another purchase I’m over the moon with are these dusky-pink suedette heels from New Look. Holly wears similar ones with many of her outfits and these too will go with lots. I always find New Look shoes so comfortable. These are definitely a great addition to my shoe collection.
Next up is an outfit for my holiday to St. Lucia next July. My sister is getting mareied there. I know, it’s far away bit when you see a perfect holiday outfit that’s in the sale, you should just pick it up or you’ll probably regret it! I really love midi skirts with cut out detail. I have a few in my wardrobe but none in this lush powder blue colour. It’s not as if blue and white is ever not going to be a Summer staple. This high-waisted skirt and cropped cotton cut-out top are crying out for a red sandal. That’s one stylish holiday outfit sorted! Finally, I found a gorgeous burgundy bardot top with fluted sleeve detail in New Look that is ideal for throwing on with black skinny jeans for a few drinks down the pub. It’s really girly even though it’s quite a plain top. Us girls always seem to run out of “nice tops” to go with jeans and so this piece will be my next go-to top when that’s what I need to wear.
To finish the week off nicely I need to head to Meadowhall, again, to pick up a t-shirt for my Halloween outfit that I’ve seen on the New Look website (they’re out of stock of my size) and also some cat ears too. I think that’s my idea confirmed for what I’m going to York Maze Hallowscream as next Weekend! I’m getting my makeup done at MAC before we go; can’t wait to see what it turns out like. I hope you have enjoyed this blog. If you don’t already, you can follow me on Instagram and Twitter for daily posts. Thanks for reading. Until next week, take care, Natalie x
