It all stems from my childhood. Being dressed in matching outfits with your Sister (it’s what happened to us after being born on the same date, two years apart), mine would always be the purple version and hers would be pink. There are some cracking photos!

So that’s the history and how my favourite colour has always been any shade of lilac.

To see that purple hues are all over the high street for this Autumn/Winter, I can confirm, that makes me happy. I’ve already spotted a gorgeously girly lilac soft knit from And Other Stories that I’d like to try. I thought I’d have a gander online at all my favourite fashion outlets to see what they have to offer in this colour too. You can click the item names to be taken to the listing on each website.

Wool Blend Tortoise Button Cardigan

by And Other Stories

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cardigan with a shirt like collar. It’s £65. With it being wool, would it be itchy? I’d have to have a feel of it when I head to London next month. There’s a store close to King’s Cross station. Imagine this with Mom jeans, straight jeans, as a cover up on a cooler Autumnal day with a midi pleated skirt. I love it.

Oversized Corduroy Shirt

by Zara

Relaxed. Casual. Warm, as it’s corduroy. Pair it with a little bralette top or lacy cami or just wear on it’s own. How nice is this for £19.99? Look at it closer up on the link above. 100% want this.

Check Crop Top

by Zara

Gingham, check print, is featuring all over the high street too, so here are two trends in one. I really like this to wear with high waisted jeans for those ‘jeans and a nice top’ moments. This is £25.99 and I think it looks so much more than that.

Lilac Cycling Shorts

by New Look

Throw on an oversized black tee, a jacket on top if it’s chilly and your fave trainers and we have a perfect Saturday afternoon stroll around the shops outfit. More for early Autumn maybe, rather than mid Winter! For £7.99, I like these.

Reila Masala Dress

by All Saints

I saw and felt this dress when I went to my local shopping centre recently. It’s gorgeous, a real eye-catcher. Now it’s in the sale, it would be a lovely addition to my wardrobe. V-neck is perfect for a bigger chest and I just love the print. Was £188 and is now £94. Still an expensive dress, but totally worth it. I wouldn’t personally want to harden it up with the biker boots and would save it for a nice occasion, but it would look cute with a cream, oversized chunky knit over the top. All sizes they stock are currently available.

Stradivarius Jogger in Lilac

on ASOS

We’ve all been dressing a lot more casual this year, I’ll call is Sports Luxe. I like to lounge in joggers and a racer vest similar to this (Topshop vests were my fave over lockdown). My Topshop joggers drop lots of bits of fluff from inside the legs every time I put my legs in them, which is a bit annoying. I’d be willing to try this pair via ASOS for £12.99 and I like it with the white vest but black would also be nice too. Basics – you gotta love them!

That’s it for my lilac roundup for today. If I see anything else in a purple shade that I like the look of, I’ll post it on my Instagram stories. Would be great to see you over there if you don’t follow me already. I post OOTDs, fashion, shopping, interiors and general lifestyle stories.
